Job Overview

This role focuses on developing and implementing strategies to ensure the long-term sustainability of Namibia’s marine ecosystems. The position is based in Ongwediva, a key hub for coastal fisheries and conservation efforts. Candidates will contribute to policy development, monitor fishing practices, and collaborate with international stakeholders to promote eco-friendly aquaculture.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute sustainable fishing protocols aligned with global environmental standards.
• Conduct field research to assess fish stock health and marine biodiversity.
• Collaborate with local fishing communities to promote responsible harvesting techniques.
• Prepare reports for regulatory bodies and stakeholders on compliance and conservation progress.
• Lead training programs for fishermen on sustainable practices and equipment usage.

Required Skills

• Expertise in marine ecology and fisheries science.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., GIS, R, Python).
• Strong project management and cross-cultural communication skills.
• Knowledge of Namibian marine regulations and international sustainability frameworks.

Education

Salary
