Job Overview

The Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance Manager will lead the quality assurance function for Novartis Namibia’s manufacturing and distribution operations. Reporting to the Regional QA Director, the manager ensures compliance with international regulatory standards, internal policies, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). The role involves overseeing quality systems, managing audits, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with GMP and local regulatory requirements.
• Lead internal and external audits, including FDA, EMA, and Namibia Medicines Regulatory Council inspections.
• Manage deviation investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Oversee batch release processes, ensuring all documentation meets quality standards before product distribution.
• Coordinate with Production, Engineering, and Validation teams to support technology transfers and new product launches.
• Drive continuous improvement projects using Lean Six Sigma methodologies to enhance quality performance.
• Provide training and mentorship to QA staff and promote a culture of quality throughout the organization.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of regulatory changes and industry best practices.

Required Skills

• In‑depth understanding of GMP, ICH guidelines, and pharmaceutical quality systems.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a data‑driven approach.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certifications such as CQE, CQA, or Six Sigma Green Belt are highly desirable.

Experience

Applicants must have 5‑7 years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical quality assurance, with at least two years in a supervisory or managerial role. Experience in a GMP‑regulated manufacturing environment and exposure to international regulatory inspections are essential.

Salary

The competitive salary range for this position is SSP 300,000 to SSP 450,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional performance‑based incentives may be offered.
