Job Overview

The Senior Legal Counsel will lead the Legal Advisory department in delivering high‑quality legal services to PwC’s corporate clients, ensuring compliance with Namibian law and international regulations. This role involves providing strategic counsel on corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, contract negotiations, and dispute resolution. Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive legal advice on corporate transactions, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts and agreements.
• Lead due diligence processes for mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
• Represent the firm in negotiations, mediations, and, when necessary, litigation matters.
• Develop and implement internal legal policies and procedures to ensure best practice.
• Mentor and supervise junior legal staff, fostering professional development.
• Collaborate with audit, tax and consulting teams to deliver integrated client solutions.
• Stay abreast of legislative changes and advise the business on emerging legal trends.

Required Skills

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of Afrikaans is an advantage.

Education

A recognized LLB degree from an accredited university and active admission to the Namibian Bar are mandatory. Additional certifications in corporate law or international arbitration are highly desirable.

Experience

Minimum of eight years of post‑qualification experience in a reputable law firm or in‑house legal department, with a focus on corporate and commercial law. Experience advising clients in the mining, energy or financial sectors will be considered a strong asset.

Salary

The role offers a competitive salary range of SSP 350,000 to 500,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications, along with performance‑based bonuses.
