Job Overview

RPO Recruitment is seeking an experienced Business Development Executive for a dynamic and growing IT software company based in Windhoek. The successful candidate will focus on driving business growth, expanding client relationships, and increasing software sales within the retail, wholesale, and distribution sectors.

This opportunity is ideal for professionals with strong experience in IT software sales, retail systems, and business development across industries such as grocery, hardware, liquor, pet supplies, and general merchandise.


Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales

  • Drive new business opportunities through cold calling and scheduled client meetings
  • Identify and engage potential clients within retail, wholesale, and distribution sectors
  • Build and maintain relationships with retailers, wholesalers, and distribution businesses
  • Achieve sales targets and close high-value business deals

Client Engagement & Software Demonstrations

  • Conduct software demonstrations and presentations for prospective clients
  • Understand customer business needs and recommend suitable software solutions
  • Maintain strong client relationships and deliver professional customer engagement
  • Support clients throughout the sales process

Sales Pipeline & Reporting

  • Maintain and update the sales and engagement funnel
  • Provide weekly remote progress reports to management
  • Monitor sales activities and identify opportunities for growth
  • Escalate issues where necessary to ensure effective resolution

Territory Expansion

  • Expand the company’s footprint across multiple provinces
  • Travel regularly to meet clients and develop new market opportunities
  • Promote software solutions within retail and distribution industries

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in business development and sales
  • Proven experience within IT software or related industries
  • Strong background selling to retail, wholesale, and distribution businesses
  • Experience working with retail systems and operations
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transport

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Strong sales and negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities
  • Ability to close deals and achieve sales targets
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Strong understanding of retail and distribution operations
