Job Overview
John Deere Namibia is seeking an Agricultural Technology Systems Developer to design and implement digital solutions for precision agriculture. This role will bridge the gap between agricultural operations and technological advancements, ensuring farmers leverage data analytics, automation, and IoT systems to optimize crop yields and resource management. The position is based in Otavi, a hub for agricultural innovation in Namibia.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain software systems for precision farming, including crop monitoring and irrigation automation.
- Collaborate with agronomists to integrate sensor data into actionable insights for farmers.
- Design user-friendly interfaces for agricultural technology platforms.
- Conduct field trials to test and refine technology solutions.
- Provide technical support and training to farmers and stakeholders.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in programming languages (Python, JavaScript, or C#).
- Experience with IoT systems and data analytics tools.
- Understanding of agricultural practices and crop science.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
