Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sustainable Water Resources Manager to join our team in Otjiwarongo, Namibia. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing AWF’s water resources program in Namibia, which focuses on promoting sustainable water management practices and protecting water sources for both humans and wildlife.

The Sustainable Water Resources Manager will work closely with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to develop and implement sustainable water management plans. The candidate will also be responsible for conducting research and analysis on water resources management, and providing technical assistance and training to local communities and partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sustainable water management plans in collaboration with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders
  • Conduct research and analysis on water resources management, including data collection and analysis
  • Provide technical assistance and training to local communities and partners on sustainable water management practices
  • Collaborate with AWF’s conservation team to develop and implement conservation plans that incorporate sustainable water management practices
  • Develop and manage budgets, reports, and other program documents

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Hydrology, or related field
  • 5-7 years of experience in water resources management, conservation, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of sustainable water management practices and principles
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Fluency in English, with knowledge of local languages an advantage

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Hydrology, or related field

Experience

5-7 years of experience in water resources management, conservation, or a related field
