Job Overview
The Solar Energy Project Manager will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large‑scale solar power projects in the Otjiwarongo region. This role involves coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing stakeholder relationships, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets for solar installations ranging from 10 MW to 100 MW.
- Lead cross‑functional teams including engineers, procurement specialists, contractors, and local authorities.
- Secure permits, land use agreements, and grid connection approvals in compliance with Namibian regulations.
- Monitor project performance, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure on‑time delivery.
- Manage vendor contracts, negotiate terms, and oversee quality control throughout the construction phase.
- Report progress to senior management and provide transparent updates to stakeholders.
- Ensure health, safety, and environmental standards are adhered to on all site activities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project efficiency and cost‑effectiveness.
Required Skills
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
- In‑depth knowledge of solar PV technology, grid integration, and local regulatory frameworks.

Education
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline is required. Advanced certifications such as PMP, Prince2, or a Master’s degree in Sustainable Energy are highly desirable.
Experience
Candidates must have at least five years of proven experience managing solar or other renewable energy projects, preferably in Africa. Experience with large‑scale EPC contracts, stakeholder engagement, and regulatory compliance is essential.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 350,000 to SSP 500,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses, health insurance, and retirement benefits.
