Job Overview
The Aviation Safety Inspector will be responsible for ensuring that Air Namibia’s operations comply with the safety regulations and standards of the Namibian Civil Aviation Authority and the International Civil Aviation Organization. The successful candidate will have a strong background in aviation safety and a proven track record of identifying and mitigating safety risks.
The Aviation Safety Inspector will work closely with the Safety and Quality Assurance team to develop and implement safety policies and procedures, conduct safety audits and inspections, and investigate safety incidents and accidents.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct safety audits and inspections of Air Namibia’s operations, including flight operations, maintenance, and ground handling
- Identify and mitigate safety risks, and develop and implement corrective actions
- Investigate safety incidents and accidents, and develop and implement safety recommendations
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards
- Collaborate with the Safety and Quality Assurance team to develop and implement safety training programs
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Science or related field
- 5 years of experience in aviation safety, preferably in a regulatory or airline environment
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and standards, including the Namibian Civil Aviation Authority and the International Civil Aviation Organization
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate safety risks
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Science or related field
Experience
5 years of experience in aviation safety, preferably in a regulatory or airline environment
