We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Swakopmund, Namibia. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing geotechnical engineering expertise to support the safe and efficient operation of our mining operations.

The Geotechnical Engineer will work closely with our operations team to identify and mitigate geotechnical risks, develop and implement geotechnical engineering solutions, and provide technical support to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct geotechnical site investigations and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop mitigation strategies
  • Design and implement geotechnical engineering solutions to support mining operations
  • Develop and maintain geotechnical models and databases to support decision-making
  • Collaborate with operations teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards
  • Provide technical support and training to junior engineers and technicians

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related field
  • 5-10 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, preferably in the mining industry
  • Strong technical skills in geotechnical engineering, including site investigation, design, and analysis
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
