We are currently seeking a highly experienced Principal Mining Geologist to lead our exploration and resource modeling efforts in Tsumeb. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic planning of exploration programs and supervise drilling campaigns to define ore boundaries.
• Develop and maintain complex 3D geological models using industry-standard software to guide mine production.
• Perform rigorous quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) on all geochemical and geophysical data.
• Collaborate with mine engineers to optimize pit designs and underground development based on geological constraints.
• Prepare detailed technical reports for stakeholders and regulatory bodies regarding resource classification.
• Mentor junior geologists and provide technical guidance on structural geology and mineralogy.
• Evaluate the economic viability of new deposits through detailed feasibility studies and risk assessments.

Required Skills

• Expertise in Leapfrog, Surpac, or Micromine for 3D geological modeling.
• Advanced knowledge of structural geology and hydrothermal alteration patterns.
• Strong leadership capabilities with a proven track record of managing multidisciplinary technical teams.
• Proficiency in resource estimation techniques and JORC or NI 43-101 reporting standards.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex geochemical datasets.
• Strong communication skills for presenting technical findings to non-technical executives.

Education

The candidate must possess a Master’s Degree in Geology, Economic Geology, or a closely related Earth Science field from an accredited university. Professional certification or membership in a recognized geological society (such as AusIMM or GSL) is highly preferred.

Experience

A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in the mining industry is required, with at least 5 years in a senior or principal role. Experience specifically within base metal or precious metal deposits in arid environments is considered a significant advantage.
