Job Overview

The Senior Data Privacy Analyst will lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of privacy programs that ensure compliance with Namibian data protection regulations, the African Union’s data privacy framework, and global standards such as GDPR and CCPA. Working closely with legal, security, product, and engineering teams, you will assess privacy risks, design mitigation strategies, and provide guidance on data handling practices. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and continuously improve AWS’s data privacy policies, procedures, and controls in alignment with local and international regulations.
• Conduct privacy impact assessments (PIAs) for new services, features, and cross‑border data transfers.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to embed privacy by design principles throughout the development lifecycle.
• Monitor regulatory changes in Namibia and the broader African region, providing timely updates and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Lead incident response activities related to data breaches, ensuring proper reporting and remediation.
• Provide privacy training and awareness programs for internal stakeholders.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for data subjects, regulators, and external auditors.
• Prepare and present privacy compliance reports to executive management.

Required Skills

• In‑depth knowledge of Namibian Data Protection Act, GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant privacy frameworks.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a detail‑oriented mindset.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex legal concepts into actionable technical guidance.
• Proficiency with privacy management tools and data mapping software.
• Experience working in cloud environments, preferably with AWS services.
• Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in Law, Information Security, Computer Science, or a related discipline is required. A master’s degree or relevant certifications such as CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPM, or CISSP are highly desirable and demonstrate a commitment to professional development in data privacy.

Experience

Candidates must have a minimum of five years of hands‑on experience in data privacy, compliance, or information security roles. Salary
