Job Overview

The Sustainable Agriculture Analyst will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and monitoring sustainable farming initiatives that align with Olam Namibia’s environmental and social goals. Reporting to the Head of Sustainable Development, the analyst will collaborate with agronomists, supply‑chain managers, and local farmer cooperatives to integrate climate‑smart practices, improve soil health, and optimise resource use. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement climate‑smart agriculture strategies tailored to the Kavango region.
• Conduct field assessments to evaluate soil health, water usage, and crop performance.
• Collaborate with local farmer groups to introduce best‑practice agronomic techniques.
• Analyse data on yield, input efficiency, and environmental impact to generate actionable insights.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for internal stakeholders and external partners.
• Support the creation of training modules and workshops on sustainable farming.
• Monitor compliance with Olam’s sustainability standards and national regulations.

Required Skills

• Strong analytical abilities with proficiency in data‑analysis tools (e.g., Excel, R, or Python).
• Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement and report writing.
• Knowledge of sustainable agriculture practices, including conservation agriculture and integrated pest management.
• Ability to work independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams.
• Project management experience with a focus on agricultural initiatives.
• Familiarity with GIS mapping and remote sensing is an advantage.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Environmental Science, Agronomy, or a closely related discipline is required. Advanced degrees or certifications in sustainable development, climate‑smart agriculture, or related fields are highly desirable.

Salary
