Job Overview

The Academic Program Director will lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of undergraduate and postgraduate programs within the Faculty of Engineering and Technology at the Keetmanshoop campus. This senior role reports directly to the Dean of Academic Affairs and works closely with department heads, industry advisors, and accreditation bodies to ensure that curricula are relevant, rigorous, and aligned with both local and international standards. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and update program curricula to reflect emerging trends, industry needs, and accreditation requirements.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team of faculty members, providing mentorship, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities.
• Coordinate with external stakeholders, including government agencies, private sector partners, and professional bodies, to secure resources and collaborative opportunities.
• Oversee program budgeting, resource allocation, and enrollment forecasting to ensure financial sustainability.
• Implement quality assurance processes, including regular program audits, student feedback analysis, and outcome assessments.
• Promote research integration within teaching, encouraging faculty and students to engage in applied projects that address regional challenges.
• Represent NUST at national and international conferences, workshops, and forums to showcase program achievements and attract prospective students.

Education

A doctoral degree (PhD) in Education Management, Higher Education Administration, Engineering Education, or a closely related discipline is required. Candidates with a master’s degree combined with extensive senior‑level experience may also be considered.

Experience

Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive experience in higher education, including at least five (5) years in a senior academic leadership role such as Program Director, Department Chair, or Dean. Demonstrated success in curriculum redesign, accreditation processes, and partnership development is essential.

Salary

The position offers a competitive salary range of SSP 250,000 to SSP 350,000 per month, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Additional performance‑based incentives may be provided.
