Job Overview

The Aftermarket Service Engineer will play a pivotal role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of Toyota vehicles after they leave the showroom. Reporting to the Service & Maintenance Manager, the engineer will diagnose complex technical issues, develop repair strategies, and provide technical guidance to service technicians and dealers. This position is essential for maintaining high customer satisfaction, reducing warranty costs, and supporting Toyota’s reputation for durability and excellence. The role involves close collaboration with the parts department, quality assurance teams, and regional service centers to implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues in Toyota vehicles.
  • Develop detailed repair procedures and technical bulletins for service technicians.
  • Provide on‑site technical assistance and training to dealership service teams.
  • Collaborate with the parts department to ensure availability of correct components and manage inventory levels.
  • Analyze warranty data to identify recurring problems and recommend design or process improvements.
  • Participate in root‑cause analysis investigations and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate service records and generate performance reports for management.
  • Stay updated on new vehicle models, technologies, and industry standards.
  • Support the implementation of Toyota’s Service Excellence program across the region.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of automotive systems, including powertrain, chassis, and electronic control units.

Education

Candidates should have 3‑5 years of hands‑on experience in automotive service engineering, preferably with exposure to Japanese vehicle platforms. Experience in a dealership or OEM aftermarket environment is advantageous.

Salary
