Job Overview
The Cloud Solutions Architect will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud environments for IBM’s Namibia portfolio. Reporting to the Head of Cloud Services, the role involves translating business requirements into scalable, secure, and cost‑effective cloud architectures. Key Responsibilities
- Design and architect end‑to‑end cloud solutions that meet client business objectives and compliance requirements.
- Lead cloud migration projects, ensuring minimal disruption and optimal performance.
- Collaborate with security teams to embed robust security controls and governance frameworks.
- Develop proof‑of‑concepts and technical prototypes to demonstrate solution viability.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development and operations teams.
- Optimize cloud cost structures through right‑sizing, reserved instances, and automation.
- Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and integrate innovative services into client solutions.
- Document architecture designs, standards, and best practices for internal knowledge bases.
Required Skills
- Deep expertise in IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Strong understanding of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and micro‑services architecture.
- Proficiency in infrastructure‑as‑code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities and analytical thinking.
- Effective communication skills for client interaction and stakeholder management.
- Ability to work independently and lead multidisciplinary teams.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline is required. Advanced certifications such as IBM Certified Solution Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect are highly desirable.
Experience
Minimum of five years of hands‑on experience designing and deploying cloud solutions in enterprise environments. Prior experience in the African market or with large‑scale industry clients is an advantage.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 300,000 to SSP 500,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses and comprehensive benefits.
