Job Overview
The Commercial Credit Analyst will join the Credit Risk Management department to evaluate and structure credit proposals for corporate clients across various sectors. This role is essential in ensuring the bank’s loan portfolio remains healthy while supporting the growth of Namibia’s business community. The analyst will conduct thorough financial analysis, assess risk, and provide recommendations to senior credit officers. Key Responsibilities
- Analyze financial statements, cash flow projections, and market data to assess creditworthiness of corporate borrowers.
- Prepare detailed credit memorandums outlining risk assessment, loan structure, and mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with relationship managers to understand client needs and tailor financing solutions.
- Monitor existing loan portfolios, identify early warning signs, and recommend corrective actions.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes and ensure compliance with Namibia’s banking regulations.
- Participate in credit committee meetings and present findings to senior management.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and quantitative abilities with proficiency in financial modeling.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports and presenting to stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of credit risk principles and banking products.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel; experience with credit analysis software is a plus.
Education
A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as CFA, CPA, or a credit risk certification are advantageous and demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development.
Experience
Candidates should have a minimum of five years of experience in credit analysis, preferably within a commercial banking environment. Experience evaluating large corporate borrowers across diverse sectors, such as mining, agriculture, manufacturing, and services, will be highly valued.
Salary
The role offers a competitive salary range of SSP 250,000 to SSP 350,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance-based bonuses and incentives are also part of the remuneration package.
