Job Overview
The Risk Management Analyst will play a pivotal role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial risks that could affect the stability of Namibia’s monetary system. Reporting to the Head of Risk Management, you will work closely with cross‑functional teams, including Treasury, Compliance, and Economic Research, to develop robust risk frameworks and provide actionable insights. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments covering credit, market, operational, and liquidity risks.
- Develop and maintain risk measurement models, stress‑testing scenarios, and risk dashboards.
- Prepare detailed risk reports for senior management and the Board of Directors.
- Collaborate with the Treasury department to monitor exposure limits and ensure compliance with regulatory caps.
- Support the implementation of the bank’s risk appetite framework and update it as market conditions evolve.
- Analyze macro‑economic data and its potential impact on the banking sector.
- Provide recommendations for risk mitigation strategies and policy enhancements.
- Assist in internal and external audit processes related to risk management.
Required Skills
- Strong quantitative and analytical abilities with proficiency in statistical software (e.g., R, SAS, Python).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear risk reporting.
- Deep understanding of Basel III, IFRS 9, and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and macro development.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certifications such as FRM (Financial Risk Manager) or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage.
Experience
Applicants should have 3‑5 years of relevant experience in risk analysis, financial modeling, or a similar role within a banking or financial services environment. Experience with central bank operations or regulatory bodies is a plus.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 250,000 to SSP 350,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses and statutory benefits.
