Job Overview
The Satellite Communications Specialist will design, implement, and maintain satellite link solutions that support MTC’s nationwide network. Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and optimize satellite communication systems for voice, data, and IoT services.
- Monitor satellite link performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions to maintain high availability.
- Coordinate with satellite service providers, equipment vendors, and internal engineering teams to ensure seamless integration.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including network diagrams, SOPs, and performance reports.
- Conduct regular site surveys and feasibility studies to identify new satellite deployment opportunities.
- Support disaster recovery planning and ensure business continuity through robust satellite backup solutions.
- Stay updated on emerging satellite technologies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in satellite communication protocols (e.g., VSAT, GEO, LEO constellations).
- Strong knowledge of RF engineering, modulation techniques, and network security.
- Experience with network monitoring tools and performance analytics.
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills for stakeholder engagement and reporting.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field is required. Professional certifications such as Certified Satellite Communications Professional (CSCP) or similar are advantageous.
Experience
Minimum of five years of hands‑on experience in satellite communications, network engineering, or related technical roles. Experience in a telecom environment, especially with mobile network operators, is highly preferred.
Salary
The position offers a competitive salary ranging from SSP 250,000 to SSP 350,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and incentives are also part of the compensation package.
