Job Overview

The Senior Structural Engineer will lead the design, analysis, and supervision of structural components for a variety of housing projects throughout the Gobabis region and beyond. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that all structures comply with local building codes, international standards, and sustainability criteria. Key Responsibilities

• Lead structural design and analysis for residential, commercial, and mixed‑use projects using advanced software such as ETABS, SAP2000, and Revit.
• Develop detailed construction drawings, specifications, and calculations that meet Namibian building regulations and international best practices.
• Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, and project managers to integrate structural solutions seamlessly into overall project plans.
• Conduct site inspections and supervise construction activities to verify compliance with design intent and quality standards.
• Perform value engineering assessments to optimize material usage, reduce costs, and enhance sustainability.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare technical reports, progress updates, and risk assessments for senior management and stakeholders.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies, codes, and industry trends to continuously improve design processes.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, Revit).
• Strong knowledge of Namibian building codes, Eurocode, and other relevant standards.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills for cross‑disciplinary collaboration.
• Project management experience, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
• Ability to lead and mentor a technical team.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required. A Master’s degree or professional registration (e.g., Chartered Engineer) is highly desirable and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.

Experience

Minimum of eight years of progressive experience in structural engineering, with a proven track record of delivering complex housing projects from concept through construction. Experience in the Namibian construction environment and familiarity with local material suppliers are strong assets.

Salary

The position offers a competitive salary range of SSP 250,000 to 350,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and allowances may be provided in line with company policy.
