Job Overview

This role is part of Veolia’s strategic initiative to expand waste-to-energy infrastructure in Namibia. The successful candidate will lead project planning, stakeholder engagement, and technical coordination for a new anaerobic digestion facility in Rundu. The position requires collaboration with municipal authorities, environmental agencies, and energy distribution partners to ensure compliance with Namibia’s Green Economy Framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute project timelines for waste-to-energy facility construction
  • Conduct feasibility studies for organic waste collection and processing systems
  • Coordinate with local municipalities for waste stream integration
  • Monitor emissions and energy output to meet environmental regulations
  • Prepare technical reports and sustainability impact assessments
  • Engage with communities to promote waste segregation initiatives

Required Skills

  • Expertise in anaerobic digestion or gasification technologies
  • Project management certification (PMP or equivalent)
  • Strong stakeholder negotiation and public speaking abilities
  • Proficiency in energy modeling software (e.g., HOMER Pro)
  • Knowledge of Namibia’s Environmental Health Act compliance standards
  • Experience with renewable energy grant applications

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Renewable Energy Systems
  • Master’s Degree preferred in Sustainable Development or Environmental Policy

Experience

Salary

42,000 – 52,000 SSP per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
