Job Overview
The Internal Audit Manager will lead the internal audit function for KPMG Namibia’s client portfolio, ensuring robust risk assessment, compliance monitoring and governance frameworks. Reporting directly to the Head of Audit, the role involves planning, executing and reporting on audit engagements across various sectors, including banking, mining, energy and public institutions. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor, providing actionable insights that enhance operational efficiency and safeguard assets. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute annual internal audit plans aligned with client risk profiles and regulatory requirements.
- Lead audit teams in fieldwork, data analysis, and reporting, ensuring high‑quality deliverables.
- Identify control weaknesses, recommend remediation actions, and follow up on implementation status.
- Collaborate with senior client stakeholders to discuss audit findings and strategic risk mitigation.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of Namibia Jobs market trends, regulatory changes, and industry best practices.
- Prepare comprehensive audit reports, executive summaries and presentations for senior management.
- Mentor junior auditors, fostering skill development and adherence to KPMG’s quality standards.
- Support business development initiatives by contributing to proposals and client presentations.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in audit software tools (e.g., ACL, IDEA) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
- High ethical standards and a commitment to confidentiality.
- Leadership qualities with experience in coaching and team development.
Education
A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline is mandatory. Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, CIA or CISA are highly valued and will be considered a strong differentiator during the selection process.
Experience
Candidates must possess a minimum of five to seven years of progressive experience in internal audit, preferably within a professional services firm or a large corporate environment. Experience in sectors such as banking, mining, energy or public sector entities will be advantageous, given KPMG Namibia’s diverse client base.
Salary
The remuneration package ranges from SSP 250,000 to SSP 350,000 per month, commensurate with experience, qualifications and demonstrated performance. The package includes performance‑based bonuses, pension contributions and other statutory benefits.
