ICOMOS is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Digital Heritage Preservation Manager to join its team in Omaruru, Namibia. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of digital heritage preservation initiatives in Namibia, working closely with local stakeholders, communities, and international partners.

Job Overview

The Digital Heritage Preservation Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing digital heritage preservation strategies, policies, and programs in Namibia. This will involve working closely with local stakeholders, communities, and international partners to identify and prioritize digital heritage preservation needs, and to develop and implement effective solutions.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in digital heritage preservation, with experience in developing and implementing digital preservation strategies, policies, and programs. They will also have excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders, including local communities, government agencies, and international partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement digital heritage preservation strategies, policies, and programs in Namibia
  • Work closely with local stakeholders, communities, and international partners to identify and prioritize digital heritage preservation needs
  • Develop and implement effective solutions to digital heritage preservation challenges
  • Provide technical guidance and support to local stakeholders and communities on digital heritage preservation
  • Develop and manage budgets, reports, and other documentation related to digital heritage preservation initiatives

Required Skills

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field (digital heritage preservation, cultural heritage management, etc.)
  • At least 5 years of experience in digital heritage preservation, with a focus on developing and implementing digital preservation strategies, policies, and programs
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders, including local communities, government agencies, and international partners
  • Strong technical skills, including experience with digital preservation software and systems
