Job Overview
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Industrial Automation Technician to join our specialized technical team in Lüderitz. Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on automated manufacturing equipment and control systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair PLC-based systems, HMI interfaces, and industrial communication networks.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to integrate new automation hardware into existing production lines.
- Conduct diagnostic tests on electrical and mechanical components to minimize downtime.
- Maintain detailed technical documentation regarding system modifications and maintenance logs.
- Ensure all technical activities comply with international safety and quality standards.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting (Siemens TIA Portal preferred).
- Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols such as PROFINET and Modbus.
- Expertise in reading and interpreting complex electrical schematics and technical blueprints.
- Hands-on experience with industrial robotics and motion control systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities in high-pressure environments.
Education
A minimum of a Diploma or Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related technical field is mandatory. A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is highly advantageous for long-term career progression within the company.
Experience
Candidates must possess at least 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in an industrial automation or manufacturing environment. Proven experience with Siemens automation hardware is a significant advantage. Salary
