Job Overview

The Sustainable Agriculture Project Coordinator will lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of Olam’s flagship sustainable agriculture initiatives in the Rundu region. This role is central to advancing Olam’s mission of promoting climate‑smart farming, improving yields, and enhancing the livelihoods of smallholder farmers. The coordinator will work closely with cross‑functional teams, local partners, government agencies, and community stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with Olam’s sustainability standards. Key Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and monitor sustainable agriculture projects that improve productivity and environmental outcomes for smallholder farms.
• Collaborate with agronomists, extension officers, and local NGOs to deliver training on climate‑smart practices, such as conservation agriculture and integrated pest management.
• Develop project budgets, timelines, and performance indicators, ensuring alignment with Olam’s corporate goals and donor requirements.
• Conduct field visits to assess progress, collect data, and provide technical support to farmers, ensuring adherence to best practices.
• Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and impact assessments for senior management, partners, and funding agencies.
• Facilitate stakeholder engagement workshops, community meetings, and farmer field schools to promote knowledge sharing and adoption of sustainable techniques.
• Identify and mitigate project risks related to climate variability, market fluctuations, and regulatory changes.
• Support the development of market linkages for farmer produce, enhancing value chain integration and profitability.

Education

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Environmental Science, Rural Development, or a closely related discipline. Advanced certifications in project management (e.g., PMP) or sustainable agriculture are desirable but not mandatory.

Experience

Candidates should have 3‑5 years of hands‑on experience coordinating agricultural projects, preferably within a multinational agribusiness or development organization. Experience working with smallholder farmers, NGOs, or government agencies in Namibia or the Southern African region will be highly valued.

Salary
