Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Center Operations Manager to join our team in Walvis Bay, Namibia. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our data center, ensuring high levels of availability, reliability, and security. The Data Center Operations Manager will be responsible for managing a team of data center technicians and engineers, ensuring that all data center operations are carried out in accordance with Huawei’s global standards and best practices. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership and communication skills, and a proven track record of managing data center operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the data center, ensuring high levels of availability, reliability, and security.
  • Lead a team of data center technicians and engineers, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure that all team members are equipped to perform their duties effectively.
  • Develop and implement data center operations procedures and policies, ensuring compliance with Huawei’s global standards and best practices.
  • Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with other teams, including IT, network, and security, to ensure seamless integration and operation of data center systems.
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and reports to ensure effective financial management of data center operations.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in data center operations, with a proven track record of managing data center teams and operations.
  • Strong technical knowledge of data center infrastructure, including servers, storage, network, and security systems.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team of technicians and engineers.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of adaptability and flexibility.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Experience

At least 5 years of experience in data center operations, with a proven track record of managing data center teams and operations.
