Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive environmental impact assessments (EIAs) for infrastructure, mining, and energy projects.
  • Prepare detailed reports for regulatory submissions, including mitigation strategies and sustainability recommendations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate environmental considerations into project planning.
  • Engage with local communities and stakeholders to address environmental concerns.
  • Monitor compliance with environmental regulations during project implementation.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in EIA software (e.g., ARIES, GIS) and data analysis tools.
  • Strong understanding of Namibian environmental legislation and international standards.
  • Excellent report writing and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Fluency in English and working knowledge of local languages (e.g., Oshiwambo) preferred.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, or related field.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Environmental Impact Assessment or Sustainable Development advantageous.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years in environmental assessment or consulting, with at least 1 year in Namibia.
  • Proven experience in mining or energy sector projects.

Salary

  • Competitive salary range of 85,000 – 125,000 SSP per annum, commensurate with experience.
