Job Overview

The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Caterpillar’s heavy machinery and equipment deployed across the northern regions of Namibia, with a primary focus on the Kunene and Omusati areas. Key Responsibilities

• Perform on‑site installation, commissioning, and preventive maintenance of Caterpillar excavators, loaders, bulldozers, and generators.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults using diagnostic tools and technical manuals.
• Execute corrective repairs, part replacements, and system calibrations to restore equipment to operational condition.
• Maintain accurate service records, generate detailed reports, and update the company’s service management system.
• Provide technical training and guidance to customer operators and maintenance crews.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of heavy equipment mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.

Education

Experience

Minimum of five (5) years of hands‑on experience servicing heavy construction or mining equipment, preferably with Caterpillar products. Prior experience working in remote or off‑grid locations within Namibia or Southern Africa will be considered an advantage.

Salary
