Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Marine Conservation Biologist to join our team in Lüderitz, Namibia. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our marine conservation efforts in the region, working closely with local communities, governments, and other stakeholders to protect and conserve marine ecosystems.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marine biology, conservation, and project management. They will be able to work effectively in a team environment, communicate complex scientific information to non-technical audiences, and have a proven track record of achieving conservation outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement marine conservation projects in the region, working closely with local communities, governments, and other stakeholders.
• Conduct research and monitoring to inform conservation efforts and evaluate project effectiveness.
• Collaborate with other WWF teams and partners to advance marine conservation goals.
• Communicate complex scientific information to non-technical audiences, including local communities, governments, and other stakeholders.
• Manage project budgets and resources, ensuring effective use of funds and resources.

Required Skills

• Master’s degree in marine biology, conservation biology, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in marine conservation, research, or a related field.
• Proven track record of achieving conservation outcomes.
• Strong project management skills, including budgeting, planning, and implementation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
