Job Overview
The Railway Signaling Engineer will be responsible for the design, installation, and maintenance of railway signaling systems. The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical or electronics engineering, and will have experience in the design and implementation of signaling systems. The Railway Signaling Engineer will work closely with other engineers and technicians to ensure that signaling systems are safe, reliable, and efficient.
The Railway Signaling Engineer will be based in Gobabis, Namibia, and will be required to travel to other locations in Namibia and South Africa as needed. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of railway signaling systems, and will be able to work independently and as part of a team. The Railway Signaling Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that all work is carried out in accordance with Transnet’s safety and quality standards, and will be required to comply with all relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, install, and maintain railway signaling systems
- Work closely with other engineers and technicians to ensure that signaling systems are safe, reliable, and efficient
- Conduct site inspections and tests to ensure that signaling systems are functioning correctly
- Identify and troubleshoot faults in signaling systems
- Develop and implement plans to improve the safety and efficiency of signaling systems
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
- 5 years of experience in the design and implementation of signaling systems
- Strong understanding of railway signaling systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Education
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, and will have completed a recognized apprenticeship or training program in signaling engineering.
Experience
The successful candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in the design and implementation of signaling systems, and will have a strong understanding of railway signaling systems.
