Job Overview

This Research Coordinator position supports academic departments in designing, executing, and publishing high-impact research projects. The role involves managing interdisciplinary collaborations, securing funding, and ensuring compliance with ethical and institutional standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate research initiatives across departments, including project planning, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Identify funding opportunities and draft grant proposals for national and international research grants.
  • Collaborate with faculty to design studies, analyze data, and publish findings in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Organize workshops and training sessions on research methodologies and ethical practices.
  • Maintain compliance with university, national, and international research regulations.
  • Build partnerships with industry stakeholders, NGOs, and government bodies to advance research goals.

Required Skills

  • Proven expertise in academic research coordination with a focus on education or social sciences.
  • Strong grant-writing and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to liaise with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SPSS, NVivo) and academic writing.
  • Leadership experience in guiding research teams and mentoring junior staff.
  • Knowledge of Namibia’s educational landscape and policy frameworks.

Education

Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in Education, Research Methodology, or a related field. A PhD is an advantage but not mandatory.

Experience

Minimum of 3–5 years in academic research coordination, preferably within higher education institutions or government-funded projects.

Salary

150,000 – 200,000 SSP per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
