Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and commission satellite earth stations and associated RF equipment.
• Perform link budget analysis, frequency planning, and interference mitigation for optimal performance.
• Monitor satellite network health, troubleshoot faults, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with vendors, satellite operators, and internal teams to negotiate service contracts and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and performance reports.
• Lead capacity planning initiatives to accommodate traffic growth and emerging service requirements.
• Support field teams during installation, testing, and commissioning activities across remote sites.
• Stay updated on emerging satellite technologies, industry trends, and best practices to drive continuous improvement.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of satellite communication principles, modulation schemes, and transponder technologies.
• Proficiency with RF planning tools, link analysis software (e.g., SatPlan, STK), and network monitoring platforms.
• Hands‑on experience with VSAT terminals, microwave antennas, and RF cabling.
• Understanding of IP networking, routing protocols, and QoS mechanisms.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and analytical mindset.
• Effective communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration and vendor management.
• Ability to work independently in remote environments and adapt to changing project priorities.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as Certified Satellite Communications Professional (CSCP) or equivalent are advantageous.

Experience

Minimum of five years of hands‑on experience in satellite communications engineering, preferably within a telecom operator or satellite service provider. Demonstrated experience in designing and managing VSAT networks, conducting link budgets, and overseeing large‑scale deployments is essential.
