Job Overview

The Climate Resilience Consultant will lead initiatives to assess and enhance community and ecosystem resilience to climate change in Namibia. This role involves designing and implementing climate adaptation strategies, conducting vulnerability assessments, and collaborating with stakeholders to promote sustainable land and water management practices. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute climate resilience projects aligned with WWF’s global and national strategies.
• Conduct climate risk assessments and vulnerability analyses for ecosystems and communities.
• Design and implement climate adaptation interventions, including sustainable agriculture and water management.
• Collaborate with local communities, NGOs, and government agencies to ensure project success.
• Monitor and evaluate project outcomes to inform future initiatives.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and funding proposals for stakeholders.

Required Skills

• Proven experience in climate resilience, environmental science, or related fields.
• Strong analytical skills for climate data interpretation and risk modeling.
• Excellent project management and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Proficiency in GIS and climate modeling software (e.g., ArcGIS, Climate Engine).
• Ability to work in remote and challenging environments.
• Fluency in English and intermediate proficiency in an indigenous Namibian language.

Education

• Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Climate Change, Geography, or a related discipline.
• Certifications in climate resilience methodologies (e.g., IPCC guidelines) are advantageous.

Experience

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in climate adaptation or environmental sustainability projects.
• Experience working in Namibia or similar semi-arid regions is preferred.

Salary

30,000 – 45,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience.
