Job Overview

The Civil Engineering Project Manager will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of multimillion‑dollar construction projects in Opuwo and surrounding areas. Key Responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end project delivery for civil engineering works, including roads, bridges, water treatment plants, and public facilities.
• Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and cost estimates, ensuring alignment with client requirements and regulatory standards.
• Manage contracts, procurement processes, and subcontractor performance to achieve project milestones.
• Coordinate with local authorities, community leaders, and utility providers to secure permits and maintain positive stakeholder relations.
• Monitor project progress, conduct risk assessments, and implement mitigation strategies to address schedule or budget variances.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies, fostering a zero‑incident culture on site.
• Prepare and present regular status reports to senior management and clients, highlighting achievements, challenges, and corrective actions.
• Mentor junior engineers and project staff, promoting knowledge transfer and professional development.

Required Skills

• Strong leadership and team‑management capabilities with a proven track record of delivering large‑scale civil projects.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certifications such as PMP, PE, or Chartered Engineer status are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.

Experience

Applicants must possess a minimum of eight (8) years of progressive experience in civil engineering project management, with at least three (3) years leading complex infrastructure projects in Africa or similar emerging markets. Experience in remote or rural project environments, particularly in Namibia’s northern regions, will be viewed favorably.

Salary
