As a Digital Asset Preservation Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the long-term preservation and accessibility of our digital assets. You will work closely with our team of archivists, curators, and technologists to develop and implement preservation strategies, workflows, and systems that meet the highest standards of digital preservation.
Job Overview
The Digital Asset Preservation Specialist will be responsible for the preservation and management of Getty Images’ digital assets, including images, videos, and music. This will involve developing and implementing preservation strategies, workflows, and systems that meet the highest standards of digital preservation.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in digital preservation, with experience in developing and implementing preservation strategies, workflows, and systems. They will also have excellent technical skills, including experience with digital asset management systems, metadata standards, and preservation formats.
In addition to technical skills, the successful candidate will have excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders, including archivists, curators, technologists, and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement preservation strategies, workflows, and systems that meet the highest standards of digital preservation
- Work closely with archivists, curators, and technologists to ensure the long-term preservation and accessibility of digital assets
- Develop and maintain digital asset management systems, including metadata standards and preservation formats
- Collaborate with external partners to develop and implement preservation strategies and workflows
- Provide training and support to staff on digital preservation best practices and workflows
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 5-7 years of experience in digital preservation, with a strong background in developing and implementing preservation strategies, workflows, and systems
- Excellent technical skills, including experience with digital asset management systems, metadata standards, and preservation formats
- Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Experience
5-7 years of experience in digital preservation, with a strong background in developing and implementing preservation strategies, workflows, and systems
