Job Overview

The Quality Assurance Manager will lead the QA department, overseeing all aspects of product quality, compliance and continuous improvement. Reporting to the Operations Director, the manager will develop, implement and monitor quality systems that align with ISO 9001 and industry‑specific standards. This position plays a pivotal role in safeguarding Namibia Cement’s reputation for excellence, driving customer satisfaction, and supporting the company’s strategic growth objectives. The role also collaborates closely with production, engineering, procurement and sales teams to embed quality thinking throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO 9001 and local regulations.
• Lead internal and external audits, ensuring corrective actions are implemented promptly.
• Monitor raw material, in‑process and finished‑product quality through rigorous testing and statistical analysis.
• Collaborate with production engineers to identify root causes of non‑conformities and implement preventive measures.
• Prepare and present quality performance reports to senior management and stakeholders.
• Manage a team of QA technicians, providing coaching, performance reviews and professional development.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety standards related to product quality.
• Support new product development by defining quality specifications and validation protocols.
• Maintain documentation, records and traceability systems for all quality activities.
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma or similar methodologies.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and industry‑specific quality standards.
• Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis tools.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and root‑cause analysis techniques.
• Leadership and team‑management experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Effective communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma or continuous improvement frameworks.
• High attention to detail and commitment to safety and compliance.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Six Sigma Green Belt are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.

Experience

The ideal candidate will have at least five years of progressive experience in quality assurance or quality control within a cement, construction materials, or heavy‑industry manufacturing setting. Demonstrated experience leading a QA team and managing complex audit cycles is essential.

Salary

The position offers a competitive salary range of SSP 250,000 to 350,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and incentives are also part of the total compensation package.
