Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive regulatory affairs strategy aligned with corporate goals.
  • Prepare and submit product dossiers, label approvals, and licensing applications to the Ministry of Health and Social Services and other relevant bodies.
  • Monitor changes in food safety, labeling, and advertising regulations across Namibia and export markets.
  • Provide regulatory guidance to product development, marketing, and production teams to ensure compliant product launches.
  • Conduct internal audits and risk assessments to identify compliance gaps and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain an up‑to‑date regulatory database and ensure timely renewal of all permits and certifications.
  • Represent NBL in industry forums, regulatory workshops, and stakeholder meetings.
  • Prepare detailed compliance reports for senior management and external auditors.

Required Skills

  • In‑depth knowledge of Namibian food and beverage regulations, as well as EU and Southern African standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a detail‑oriented mindset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for drafting dossiers and interacting with authorities.
  • Proven project management experience, capable of handling multiple product registrations simultaneously.
  • Ability to work cross‑functionally and influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Food Science, Nutrition, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certification in Regulatory Affairs (e.g., RAC) is highly desirable.

Experience

Minimum of five to seven years of hands‑on regulatory affairs experience within the food and beverage sector, preferably with exposure to both domestic and export markets. Experience in a manufacturing environment and familiarity with GMP and HACCP principles are essential.
